Niche Sites

The Fall 2014 students studied Entrepreneurial Journalism as part of their capstone experience.  Below are their concepts and prototype sites:

News and Features

Danielle Corcione, founder: Environact, a site devoted to environmental news and research in the New Jersey area.  The site is a call to action for those interested in learning more about ongoing environmental legislation and scholarly research.

Mike Montalto, founder: New Jersey Concert Connection, a site designed for local musicians and enthusiasts who want to go to inexpensive concerts.

Sports

Larissa Forese, founder: Athletes’ Oasis, a safe haven for collegiate athletes to voice their opinion on various topics and events.

Lifestyle

Caitlin Stedge-Stroud, founder: Roc Happy Hour, a site highlighting the social scene, bartenders and menus in Rockland County.

Jessica Rinzuello, founder: Revolution Volunteer, a site that matches students with a customized volunteer experience.

Michele Mattia, founder: Walk of Fit,  a fitness site that highlights celebrity workout routines that college students can do.

Samantha Bell, founder: VegOut, a guide to the vegan lifestyle for college students.

Jessica Ross, founder: Does the Dog Fit, a site for young families who are interested in finding the perfect fitting dog for your family.

Danielle Cookson, founder: Remedyme, a  site for people looking for natural ways to heal and treat minor ailments.

Business and Community

Jessica Wrixon, founder: Favortrend, a site offering shopping tips and ideas for the budget-conscious college consumer.

Greg Giordano, founder:  MOPs, a hyperlocal site connecting consumers with mom and pop businesses in the community.
